Description
The Park boasts first class toilets and showers, laundry
facilities with washing machines, tumble dryers and irons and
ironing boards, hygienic food preparation areas and dish-washing
facilities with hot and cold water, a small shop supplying basic
essentials, and full facilities for disabled visitors. There
is a 24 hour park patrol service, electric hook-up points at
all caravan pitches if required, grey waste water disposal drain
points at 40 pitches, a play area for small children and ample
security lighting throughout the site, Close to the industrial
centres of Scotland, the Park lies in 400ha of countryside in
the valley of the River Clyde, between Junctions 5 and 6 of the
M74 Motorway. Mature woodlands, rough wetlands, wildlife refuges
and neat open parkland all surround Strathclyde Loch, the focal
point for many of the park activities. Strathclyde Country Park
is firmly established as one of Scotland's leading centres for
outdoor recreation, Thousands of visitors every year come to
enjoy the huge range of activities available from sailing to
sunbathing, birdwatching to bicycling, water ski-ing to watching
the world go by. Ideally situated, with excellent road and public
transport links, the Park plays host to a series of major events
throughout the year, all with their own special excitement and
attractions to offer the visitor.
